A scary thing about racism is that it is something we are all born into, society literally raises us not to question the bullshit they pound into our heads. This is especially true of the generations before us, but still applies to those of us 90’s/early 21st century kids as well. All of my family members believe reverse racism exists, and some do not even believe in racism, claiming it is a “false cry for a free ride.”

If I ever have children the first thing I will make sure they are aware of and hold on to is human equality. I will teach them about any privileges they may carry and I will remind them that this is a flawed system of power, that the only time they should attempt to take advantage of this is to speak out against injustice and level the playing ground for everyone.
